On 20th-22nd of May, 2016, Dr Lazgin A Jamil, President of the University of Zakho and Dr Lokman A Abdulkareem, the Dean of the College of Engineering Visited Sofia University in Bulgaria and met the key members of the university and the university council. The main discussions in the meeting were about strengthening the relations between the two universities regarding the joint projects for the PhD and masters students. Accordingly, a memorandum of Understanding was signed between University of Zakho and the Sofia University .
